Cannot Get Exchange working

G

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange I hope someone out there can help me as I am at a loss and my IT department just say if it is mac related they will do nothing to help. I have the exchange server address, mail details and was able to get the exchange working fine on my mac mail app, but after five frustrating hours I am at a complete loss.

What is the LDAP and public folder requirement? Do I have to have this data? I cannot even get my IT guy to give me information on this as he is a bit of a P%$^& when it comes to this stuff.

Also, have you heard of OUtlook connect anywhere and will it apply for Entourage as well??

Thanks for any help here folks...I am at my wits end

It looks like you are on Exchange 2007 server, as you said the apple mail on snow leopard is working fine as exchange account.

Follow below instructions and see if this helps

1. Make sure that you are on EWS version of Entourage? You can click Entourage --> About Entourage. it should be 13.x.x
2. If you don't have EWS version of Entourage you can download it from here http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.mspx
3. Follow these instructions in configuring Entourage with Exchange http://www.microsoft.com/mac/itpros...3-e253-4985-b76e-7b15c2407b621033&ep=7&app=18

Hope this helps

We have to provide NetBIOS name of your DC/GC to access your GAL. If you don't provide anything Entourage still works.
The IT guy is saying that there is nothing to put in the LDAP section???

You need to enter the address of a Global Catalog server, which is a
special type of Windows domain controller. It will look something like:

server.domain.com

Have a look at the sidebar in my blog post here for how you can find
your correct servers using Outlook for Windows:

"Optimize Entourage to better work with Exchange"

Hope this helps!
