cannot go into standby

My machine will not go into standby mode due to my
keyboard device driver. A pop-up box suggests that I
need to update the driver.
Is this the real cause or does it signal a different
problem?
Any suggestions on a solution?

Post to a relevant newsgroup such as one for Windows (assuming you aren't
using a Mac or other device!) with details of your Windows version, any
updates installed and exact message text.
