cannot import a picture

When I try to import a picture (.jpg or .tif) from a file, all I get is a
white box with a black "X" through the box on the screen. The picture does
not import.

Try CTRL+ALT+G , apparently this causes the Visio engine to re-render - it
might work...

Thanks, tried it, same result.
Someone suggested to insert an object, not a picture.
That does not work.
Someone else suggested that the memory was too low, increasing that did not
work.
This is a mystery. Other people in my department can load pictures, I cannot.
Anyone else have this problem, thanks for the suggestion David, I
appreciated it.
