cannot input into an unbound text box

I have a form which is not bound to anything. This form
has two unbound text boxes, which are NOT locked, which I
want to use to accept dates, so I can limit printing of a
report to a date range. The text boxes are short date
format with a short date mask. I can move around inside
the text box in form view with the arrow keys, but I
cannopt type in any information. Anyone got any ideas?

What is you input mask? The only thing I can think is that you have your
mask set to accept characters instead of numbers. Try typing in characters
and see if that's it.
