Cannot Insert nor copy & Paste Word 2007 document into Pub. 2007

I have never been able to insert a Word document into Publisher. Always get
the "Not enough memory to convert to text formatting. Windows is low on
memory." Have been using COPY & PASTE. Today, even that doesn't work. COPY
& PASTE only pastes a blank text box. HELP! I have a newsletter to get out.

Create a text box in Publisher, right-click the box, click change text, Click
text file, browse to the Word document. Publisher will automatically create over
flow text boxes and pages.

I have same problem and even Mary Sauer's reply does not work. The Word document however is .docx, which may be the problem. I try to save it as a .doc, but it always saves as .docx. I have no idea what .docx is. Is there a way around this? (And I would like to know who the "brain" was at Microsoft who made it impossible to doa simple "Copy Paste" from Word to Publisher,!)

In Word, save as, the third choice is the save as a Word 97-2003, use this
choice.

In Publisher and Word open the Office Clipboard (Edit menu in Publisher) click
the small arrow next to the clipboard icon in Word. You can collect 24 items.

If you save the file as a .doc you should be able to change text the way it was
explained in the earlier post.
