Cannot Insert QuickTime Movie

Why do I always get an error from PowerPoint informing me that "QuickTime is
not installed properly" when I try to insert a .MOV file into a PPT?

I've downloaded the QuickTime stuff countless times, installed, uninstalled,
but no diff.

What am I missing here? Curiously, I also get this error if I attempt to
import an .SWF (Flash) file directly.

HELP!

Thanks Sonia, but gee-wiz.... I had already found this article on Google,
and it didn't seem to address the problem.

Can't you just tell us in simple steps, rather than asking us to comb
through an entire article: What must I do to import a .MOV file into PPT?
Time is precious - that's why we ask an expert.

Thanks,

Gee-whiz, I'm a user, just like you, and I have time pressures too. That's
why I
pointed you to the expert site. It has a great index right at the top. And
there's a link to Inserting QuickTime in PowerPoint / Windows. It's one
paragraph long and should answer your question or at least tell you why it
isn't working.

Note the line that says:

As such, PowerPoint versions 97, 2000 and 2002 allow you to insert QuickTime
movies upto version 2.5 - unfortunately, newer QuickTime formats are not
natively supported.
