Cannot insert TIFF file in Word

I have a tiff file which contains a 16bit mono/greyscale image. It displays
fine in most applications but not when I try to insert it into a Word
document (when I try to insert it I get a message which says an error
occurred). When I use a 16bit colour image (created in the same application)
that works fine in Word. Does Word not support 16bit mono tiff images?

Hi Andy,

There are a number of variables that can be applied to a TIFF graphic. If the TIFF file is using ZIP compression, for example, Word
may not be able to unpack the graphic to use, while using LZW compression should allow you to insert the picture.
