O2k3 was installed under the domain admin login. I logged in as myself to
use Outlook and received a MAPI32.DLL corruption error, requesting Outlook be
reinstalled.
I attempted a reinstall, but received a message stating "The system
administrator has set policies to prevent this installation". I have added
my user account to the domain admin and local admin group, but the same
message appears.
The install will run when logged in as the administrator, but not as a user
with admin rights. I opened up the add/remove programs screen to attempt an
uninstall/reinstall, but office is not listed in the installed programs view.
Word/Excel throw error "Feature ID not registered".
While testing GPOs for deploying Office, I mistakenly logged on my user
account to the wrong computer. I think the corruption/problem is in my
roaming profile because it is occuring on all computers I log on too, and
will tatoo the other PCs Office install. (Now I know what it feels like to be
a virus!)
I have since deleted the GPOs that caused the problem, but have noticed that
the Windows Installer is available for a split second as my desktop GUI loads
even though the GPOs no longer exist.
Can anyone help?
