Cannot install Office Professional 2007 on clean WIN7 install

Hi,
I have seen numerous threads on Office Professional WIN 7 install issues. I
am unable to use a technet iso d/l to install from a disc I know works - as
it worked previously on a laptop. Trying an extra key off technet, accepts
fine.

Goes through nearly all the install process - then I get a message that says
"Microsoft Office 2007 encountered an error during setup." The only
option is OK.

This happened first on a CLEAN new WIN 7 install. Subsequent manual removal
of Office files that were installed (following KB928218 instructions) allows
me to try reinstalling however I get the same error at basically the
completion of the install.

I have an SSD for my boot/opsys - other than that fresh win7 ultimate install.

Any ideas?
<very frustrated>
tnx.

I downloaded and installed the beta version of MS Office 2010 on my system
running Windows 7, 64 bit. It ran great. The newer features are much better
than what is currently available. One day I fired up the Word module and was
hit with the error message "program is corrupt, uninstall or re-install to
correct the problem". My problem is I can't do either. I keep getting the
corrupt message and the same corrective measures to take. Anyone have a fix
or suggestion - Thanks

Hey Doug - Why post an UNRELATED problem of yours in my post re inability to
install Office 2007 Pro on WIN 7 - You should have started a new post!

btw - I have nor intsaleed any trial or beta versions before trying my
always failing install.
