Cannot install upgrade installation of Visio 2002

I'm trying to install my Visio 2002 upgrade license on an XP-based PC. I
have the qualifying product, Visio 5.0 Technical. I cannot install Visio 5.0
on the XP system; I get an error stating that it is not compatible with the
OS. I therefore cannot install the Visio 2002 upgrade license since I get
the "can't find qualifying product" message. I'm certainly not going to
revert back to an older OS so I can install Visio, then re-upgrade the OS,
then upgrade Visio. Are there any other options?

Ignore the message about v5 not being able to install, it should go just
fine.
