Cannot link query or report results to Excel or Word

I am the Admin of a database I created. It is currently on a shared server,
currently only used by myself and an assistant. I can open a report or query,
BUT then I can't send the results to Word or Excel, although my assistant.
Doesn't matter if I am the only one using the db. I tried opening a
copied test DB in My Documents and the same thing happens. Any ideas?
