Cannot locate file in Word 2007 after saving

Hello:

I'm hoping someone can help before I pull out the remaining of my hair. My
husband emailed me a document that I downloaded and saved on my desktop. The
document was created in Word XP and I updated it in Word 2007. I saved it as
a .doc file (Word 97-2003.) I saved it the first time and renamed it since
it downloaded as a read-only file. I then saved it several times more as I
worked on it throughout the day. When I went to search for the file to email
it back to my husband, I could not find it. I searched my everywhere on the
computer (including the temp folders) and cannot find it. Help? At no point
did I receive a message that the file wasn't saving. In additon, I follow
the same steps to save another file that he sent earlier, and had no problem
locating it after the updates.

Nevermind. I continued to look and found my answer in another post which
referenced: http://www.gmayor.com/outlook_attachments.htm .

His advice worked even though I wasn't using outlook and I saved my document
to my desktop prior to working on it.
