I am trying to log on to server to edit live....and
authentication failed...I cannot log on through the
Frontpage Open > Web > My Network Places > <URL>
I get the prompt for logon details which are correct, and
th server does (or should) have server extensions for FP
2002 enabled including the ability to publish/edit via
the http: in Frontpage.
Log file message : "The web server does not appear to
have any authentication methods enabled It asked for
user authentication, but did not send a www-authenticate
header."
What exactly does this mean?
I am working at a client's computer and had the intention
of training them in editing the site (live) rather than
uploading/downloading method via FP's FTP or 3rd party
ftp - and they are running Win XP pro with Frontpage 2000
(from Office 2000 Premium)
Does it make a difference that I'm using FP 2000 to log
on to a 2002 SE enabled server?
What is the recommended solution - if nothing else
besides upgrading to FP2003. This is a non-profit
organisation.
I don't know if this is something do their firewall or
not, or possibly an ISP/Host problem.
Any solutions or suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks
