Cannot obtain image from Scanner

I have an HP Laserjet 1220 SE (USB, All-in-one, TWAIN
compliant). When I insert a picture from the scanner the
dialogue seems to work properly and I select Custom Scan.
The page is scanned and I receive notification that the
image has been procesed. The scanner again activates to
see that there is not another page.

Then nothing, no picture is inserted and the scanned image
doesn't seem to be available anywhere.

Adobe works fine and none of the Microsoft Office XP
products retrieve the image. In fact, Publisher and
FrontPage throw an "Error retrieving image .." error.

Any inshight would be appreciated.

This may be of some help, although only as far as where
to look for the solution. I also have an HP 1220 and am
able to scan images and retrieve them with Photoshop LE.
However, when I try to print them on the HP 1220, the
program closes. I remember seeing something about this
problem in a forum but have not yet solved the problem.
I offer this because I think its some sort of interface
problem with the 1220 drivers. Someone somewhere knows
the answer.
