cannot open a document in Word 2003

I have received a document which I can open in MS word 2000 but when I try to
open it in WORD 2003 it gives an error. I have tried using document recovery
that doesn't work. I have the rights to open the file, I have space on the
disk and I can open other documents, I have tried to save this file from
Word2000 with different names but no use.

In Word 2003, try using the "Open and Repair" option in the
File->Open menu.
