cannot open a .dot file after copying it.

I created a template last week that worked fine Monday morning. However, on
Monday I tried to copy the file from one directory on our server to another
by dragging and dropping the file. I then deleted the original file. when I
tried to open the copied file I couldn't. It comes up with:

"Word experienced an error trying to open the file.
Try these suggestions.
* Check file permissions for the document or drive.
* Make sure there is sufficient free memory and disk space.
* Open the file with the Text Recovery Converter."

Also, when I have someone else try and open the file word gives an invalid
directory error.

Any help would be appreciated; I really don't want to have to recreate this
template.

Hi thewizz..
The file might have been ruined..
Dowload Open Office (www.openoffice.org), install it and try opening it with
their word processor. If it opens, SAVE AS ODT ... then reopen it with
OPenOffice and save as a Word file.
Try this one...
