Cannot open a Project file in Project Pro

We are running MS Project Server SP2a. We started to experience some issues
with one of our project files: every time we try to open it, it says
"Microsoft Project has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience". This project has about 520 lines.
The ProjectServer database seems to be fine, other users are running and
publishing their project files fine.

Is there a tool (besides doing a SQL trace) that can help us figure out what
the issues with this file are?

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

ABG:

This is typical behavior of a corrupted project record. Some strategies you
can try to get the project open in the order you should try them:

Set calculation in your Project Pro client to manual
Use an ODBC connection directly to the database
Recover the project from a known-to-be-good backup
Last resort: If you can still view the detail in PWA views, you can harvest
data and rebuild your plan manually

If you manage to get this project open, save it immediately to an mpp file,
delete the current one on the server, and import the mpp file back to
Project Server.

We found out that the issue was on the ‘MSP_Projects’ table,
‘RESERVED_BINARY_DATA’ field.
We updated this field to match the previous day's good backup of
'ProjectServer' DB and was able to open the project. We are in the process
of verifying things...
Thanks!
