Cannot open a template, any ideas?

essentially i have no idea what i am doing... i saved a 2007 template from
this site...
then changed it and added my own bits to it and saved it as as 2003
compatible word file. Now i can't seem to open it! it just says "error
opening file" then a list of options none of which help... apart from
checking permission which i have no idea how to do... Hope so one can help
and idiot like me! LOL
