[QUOTE="Curt Laird, post: 6672007"] Hi all, First off, sorry for the trouble, Duncan. I know how frustrating this must be for you. I appreciate your patience. Rest assured we are looking for an answer. A search through the Office code base does not turn up an error 10660. I have a feeling it lives in a string table and that will take a bit more work to find. I'll let you know what I discover. If you can bear with me, I'd also like you to try a few more things. Some of these might be redundant from what John and others have recommended. If you've already tried them, simply ignore and move to the next item. 1. Uninstall Office. Navigate to the folder where it used to reside and delete it (if it still exists) 2. Go to System Prefs. Under Users, remove all start up items (make a note to add the back later) 3. Go to <HD>:Library:Application Support: and move or delete the Microsoft Folder 4. Go to ~/Library/Fonts move any fonts found in this folder to a new location (outside of the Fonts folder) 5. Go to ~/Library/Caches/ and delete all Microsoft Folders 6. Move or delete ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data 7. Go to ~/Library/ and delete the Microsoft folder 8. Go to ~/Library/Preferences and delete the following files -All files that begin with "com.microsoft" -All files that being with "microsoft" -Microsoft folder 9. Open the Disk Utility (found in Applications/Utilities and run a permissions check and verify the disk 10. Reboot. Be sure to back up anything you want to keep from the above steps. These steps should remove all remnants of Office from your system. (aside from the PID) Reinstall Office and see if things are any better. If the above steps does not remedy your problem, please send the following to me (e-mail is below): 1. Screen shot of the error 2. The complete crash log (copy from the crash dialog and paste it into an e-mail) 3. Start up Activity Monitor (in Applications/Utilities) and do a File>Save to regular text. I also want to confirm that this is specific to Office 2004 and 2008 has not been installed on the machine. Also, please let me know at any time you have ever installed any 3rd party plug-ins or add-ons for Office. Lastly, feel free to contact me directly. Thanks!
