Cannot Open Attachment

How do I determine if I have Google Desktop Search and then uninstall or
disable the indexing feature to allow access to e-mail attachements displayed
with yellow envelope icon?

Same way for any other application; check Control Panel-> Add/Remove
Programs

Simply updating GDS will solve the opening issue as well.
