Cannot open attachment

I received messages that were sent from PC with attachments. The
attachments were Word, PowerPoint and PDF. It was so strange that they
showed dimmed in attachment box of the emails. I saved them to hard drive
and tried to open. It displayed a message "the file was likely corrupted
and could not be open".

I configured the same email account in Apple Mail v2.0.5. They could be
open either in the message or after saving to hard drive.

Is there something wrong with Entourage?

I am running Entourage 2004 v11.2.1 on OSX v10.4.3.
