Cannot open attachments in Outlook. Reads application not found

I cannot open any attachments in Microsoft Outlook.
When I click to try, a window pops up saying : application not found, all
the time.
I have been having this problem for almost two weeks now.
In order for me to access the attachments I need to forward mail to my other
mail addresses such as (e-mail address removed) or (e-mail address removed).
However my Outlook mail (e-mail address removed) won't accept opening the
attachments.
Please help me
