cannot open document directly

hi,

i am using word 2002 and encounters a strange problem.

whenever i double click on a document, it will only open the microsoft
word application but not with the document. I have to go to file ->
open and click on the doc again to open it. Really Annoying.......

Any help?

Also, why is the windows installer open everytime when I try to run the
office application?
