I have an XP machine running Office 2000, SP3. When clicking on Start, Open
New Document, I cannot get the document to open. The backwards office flag
appears on the taskbar, but that is it. When looking at processes in task
manager, osa9.exe is there, but it is not using any resources. It does not
show it has stopped responding, however. Clicking on the window does
nothing. Cannot even right-click to get a close box. Opening documents by
opening Word (for example) first works fine. Opening documents by
double-clicking on the individual files themselves works fine as well. The
only thing that does not work is going to open new document (or create new
document) from the start menu. Any thoughts?
