cannot open .docx files--and I have Office 2007

I receive Office .docx files in my email and I cannot open them. I know that
..docx is the Office 2007 format, but I already have Office 2007 on my
computer.

Can anyone advised on what I need to do to get this to work?

What happens when you open Word 2007 first and then attempt to open the
..docx file that you have saved to the hard drive?

And what happens when you try to open these attachments, any err msg?

Thanks for the replies. Basically I get a message that there was a problem
opening the file, similar to what a 2003 user would get trying to open a
..docx. It is doing this on all .docx files that the users receive--and it is
happening on 2 computers so far.

I went through some steps to get one file to open, but I can't quite recall
the exact steps I used--as I was trying so many different approaches.

Also want to mention that the file is showing a Word 2007 icon, so it must be
associated with Word 2007 in the OS.

And if you rt click the attachment can you 'save as' to your documents
folder, and then open it?

Yes I have tried that, but still cannot open it. And this is happening on
two different computers as of late.
