Cannot open Excel 2003 Workbook, says virus scan will not let me.

Just got Excel 2003. Am trying to open a file from "Excel 2003 Step by Step"
CD. I am getting a message "File cannot be opened because your virus scanner
has detected a problem with the file". How can I correct this?
