I get this error messeage when trying to open Outlook 2003. (Running Vista).
"An extension failed to initialize. Can't open file: extend.dat. The file may
not exist. (It does), You may not have permission to open it (I Do), or it
may be open in another program." When I click "OK" I get another error
messaeg:"unable to open default email folders. The file
C:\Users\[username]\LocalSettings\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook1.pst is in use
and could not be accessed. Close any application that is using this file and
then try again." This only happens when either of my PDAs running windows
mobile 5.0 are connected. It used to work before but now doesn't. Also worked
under XP. I have tried starting a new profile and have also renamed the .dat
files. Any help resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.
