Cannot open files in Word 2003

I hope someone replies that has an answer. I just
upgraded from 2000 to 2003 and have the exact same
problem going on right now.
I have found that I can import an old file in and it
opens fine. I'm surprised MS support doesn't know about
this yet.

In Word 2000/2002, this problem is caused by the Norton Office Plug-in. See
"OFF: Cannot Open Office Documents or Cannot Edit Inserted Objects After You
Install Office XP Service Pack 2 or Office 2000 Service Pack 3" at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=328613

I had the same problem and uninstalling norton systemworks
solve the problem.

When I uninstall Norton systemworks Word was opened and
stop the uninstall from Norton. I had to close word to
uninstall Norton :)
