Cannot open .ics file in Entourage 2008

I've successfully used O2M with XP Outlook 2003 to transfer contacts and emails, but Entourage (12.0.0 Home & Student) does not respond to dragging .ics calendar files. No shading change on icon, no hard drive action, no cooling fan, no display change in Calendar.

The bit that does work is double-clicking the .ics file (588k, so it's not empty) does open Entourage's calendar page, but none of my calendar entries are visible.

Surely it is something simple I've overlooked...

Running Entourage 12.1.0 on Office for Mac 2008 and I am experiencing the same problem. In Entourage 2004 I simply set up .ics files to open with Entourage. When I got a Lotus Notes invitation I simply opened the .ics file attachment and everything worked. I have set up .ics files to open with Entourage 2008 but it doesn't work. Nada.

Any advice?

Hi Peter!

You're posting within an old thread and many folks like myself can't see
messages older than three months because of the server we use. Please
always begin a new thread for your own help questions rather than adding
on to someone else's thread, which may be related but doesn't always
share the same answer you're after.

See what happens if you drag the .ics file onto the Entourage icon in
the Dock.

Hope this helps!

What happens for me is nothing stil. Save it, drag it to the icon- nothing.
Opening the email shows that it is a "Calendar Entry", recognizes it as a
meeting update, has all the proper information but won't update the calendar
entry (originally added by "hand")

A little more info. I can open the email using mail.app, click on the .ics
attachment and it will open properly using Entourage's calendar (which is set
as default).

I am now having the same problem. MacMail application opens the calendar
event (in Entourage mind you), but Entourage will not open it at all. Was
there ever any resolution to this issue?

Hi,

Has this been resolved? I can't open the ics attachment, am I missing a
patch, executable?

Have you tried to save the ICS file to the desktop and then drag it on to
the calendar in the folder list, or just to the calendar area in the
Entourage window?
Hope this works,
Bras
