Cannot open in Read Only mode

Every time I try to open my documents in "Read Only" mode,
I get an error saying that word cannot open the document.
Does anyone know why it is doing this and what I need to
do to fix this problem?

Hi Christine,

What version of Word are you using? What patches do you have
installed? Take a look under Help/About to find this information.
