Cannot open items

Paul

When i select an item in a folder, the preview pane
displays the following message:

"This item contains active content that cannot be
displayed in the preview pane. Open the item to read its
contents."

I'll get this message everytime i select an item and i
cannot even open an item.

Please assist.

I have an user with the same problem. I have not been able to find a
solution. He can open any item in our Public Folders unless it contains
graghics. If he tries to open an item with graphic he gets the same message
you are getting.

"This item contains active content that cannot be
displayed in the preview pane. Open the item to read its
contents."

When you say "open anhy item" do you mean just select it so that it shows in
the Reading Pane or actually double-click it to open it? If the former,
naturally, you'll get that message if the item contain ActiveX controls,
since the Reading Pane has ActiveX controls disabled. If the latter, I
don't know.

When double clicking the message to open it in Oulook he get a message
stating that he don't have permission to open the message. If he uses OWA he
can open the message. The problem seems to be specific to Outlook.
