Cannot open MS outlook 2003

I am using Windows Vista and MS Office 2003. When I try to open Outlook I
get the following message: Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Unable to
open the Outlook window. The set of folders could not be opened.

Can anyone suggest what I should do? I have tried Restore also repair
Office but no luck.

Thank you!!! I'd uninstalled Office 2007 trial, and couldn't open my Outlook
2003 at all after that! Had tried several things, but this one worked first
time out!!

One reson behind this may be that your .pst file get corrupted.
Try Running microsoft inbox repair tool called scanpst.exe.
If this utility does not help you, which it does not always; you ma
opt for third party 'pst repair' (http://www.repair-outlook-pst.com
tool.

Perhaps you should read the messages to which you respond. If you had, you'd
have seen that the writer already did use the Inbox Repair Tool and that it
worked, so you wouldn't have needed to push your own tool.

Check your pst file and make sure it isn't broken or too big.You can
try a tool called Advanced Outlook Repair. You can download a free
demo version at http://www.datanumen.com/aor/aor.exe . I think it is
a useful repair tool for you. It is easy to recover your PST file by
using its wizard. It is a powerful tool to recover messages, folders
and other objects from corrupt or damaged Microsoft Outlook PST
files.

Limitations of inbox repair tool:

1 Inbox Repair Tool works by repairing the header of PST file and the
removing everything in the file, which it does not understand. In cas
of file header corruption due to version upgrade like situations, i
does not have any trouble in repairing the file. But if the contents o
file are damaged, 'Inbox Repair Tool
(http://www.inbox-repair-tool.net/) would likely destroy what is left i
the file. In this way, it causes serious data loss situations.
2 you should first check the file size and if the size if more than
GB which is a limit in early versions of outlook, the repair operatio
can not complete.
Evaluate 'microsoft outlook recovery
(http://www.microsoftoutlook-recovery.com/) software to repair .pst fil
size larger than 2gb
3 If you can not open the original PST file before you run the Inbo
Repair Tool, you can not backup the PST file. The backup copy is usefu
to recover additional information and missing items.
'Evaluate PST Repair' (http://www.repair-outlook-pst.com/) Softwar
which is safe and easy to use because of its non distructive feature
