I have a system that is locked down for security reasons. The user only
has user rights. They have a Powerpoint presentation that has a MS
Organizational chart created on it from another computer (On this system the
user has full admin rights). When we go to open it on the locked down system
it gives us a message to repair MS Org. chart and when it tries to repair it
, it fails. If I try to open the same document on that computer with my
account (I am system admin with full admin rights) and MS Org. chart starts
with no problem.
I know it is a rights problem. The users have full control of the
Program files, but only read and execute for the Winnt folder. If I give them
full control of the Winnt folder then I can open the MS Organizational chart
under a profile with user rights.
I cannot have them have full control of the Winnt folder because these
systems must be locked down for security reasons. Do you have a work around
or can you tell me which folder they need to have full rights to under Winnt
so they can use MS charts in a profile with user rights. I can probably give
them some limited rights, But I have to keep them out of the config folder
and any other folders that might compromise the security of the computer.
Any suggestions or input will be appreciated.
Thanks
