Cannot open Outlook 2000 after downloading from Windows Update

After downloading a security update for Outlook Express 6, everytime I try to open Outlook 2000, I obtain an error message related to "Runtime execution" R6025 "pure virtual function call". Outlook is then automatically closed. Is this problem common and (how) can it be solved? Reinstallation of Outlook did not work...

I am getting the same error with Outlook 2002. The program will open, but when I click on the inbox folder, the R6025 error occurs and Outlook shuts down. Did you ever get a fix on this issue?
