Cannot open outlook saved messages

I have converted recently from Microsoft Office 2003 to 2007. I have problems
with saving my email messages from my outlook. I used to save my messages in
an outlook message format; however, I cannot open any of the messages I have
saved. In addition, I tried other outlook formats that are available, but I
cannot open any of the emails I have saved. I get the message to choose the
program to open the file and I do not have an option of the Outlook.

Can anybody please help me?

Why are you trying to save msgs outside outlook?
What outlook formats are you refering to?
Your msgs remain in the outlook data file unless you delete them or Archive
them, and if that is the case they are still available
