Cannot open PDF Attachment in Outlook 2007

We had problems with our corporate exchange server, now resolved. Since then
I cannot open PDF attachments in Outlook. I can save, print and preview. I
noticed it's trying to open with MS-word and it opens opens a File Conversion
diagloge box with 3 options: Windows Default, MS-DOS or Other. I'm using
Adobe 8 Reader and Adobe 8 Standard, (Windows XP).

That's not an Outlook issue nor could it be caused by your Exchange issues.
Windows is trying to open any attachment with the default configured file
handler. Apparently on your computer it is set to open pdf-files with Word.
Reconfigure it to open with Adobe Reader or Standard instead.
