Cannot open Pro from PWA (2007)

Renee'' Hyre

From Project Center, I receive the follwoing message upon selecting the Edit
button of my project:
"Microsoft Office Project Professional 2007 is required for this action.
Ensure that your copy of Project Professional 2007 can connect to this
server. If both of these conditions are true and you still get this message,
contact your system administrator for assistance."
Both are true. In fact, I can open my project from Pro. Any ideas?

Check to see if the URL used to access PWA is identical to the URL used in
the Project Server login account in Project Professional 2007. Let us know
what you find.

The URL is the same. This used to work fine until I was given a new laptop.
My laptop also does not think I have 2007 installed. If I try to open an
offline project by browsing, I get a message saying it was saved in a newer
version. I have to open Pro 2007 and then open the project through that. I
think this may be a Project Pro installation issue.

I fixed this by going to start / control panel/ add or remove programs. I
selected Project Pro 2007 and clicked "change". That brought up a screen
with three choices - one of which was to reinstall or repair. I clicked
repair and let it do its thing. I rebooted my computer and some updates were
installed. That did the trick.

That solution is way too weird! :) Thanks for sharing it with us. We can
keep that in mind for folks who have this problem in the future.
