Cannot open saved files

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Whenever I save a presentation, I am unable to open the saved file. I've tried saving to different locations to no avail. I get the following error:

PowerPoint cannot open the type of file represented by
":users:username:documentsresentationpt.

If I try to save as pptx, then PP tells me that it cannot access the file because it has been moved or deleted.

Any input would be greatly appreciated as I am new to Office on Mac. (OSX 1.5.8, with Office Updated to 12.2.3)

It sounds like you're in need of a permissions repair [Disk Utility - Repair
Disk Permissions] followed by a restart. If there is a network involved it
may be a more complex issue. Try that & see what happens.
