Cannot open the free/busy information.

All of a sudden my Outlook 2007 get this error when they try to book a
Meeting Room:

"Cannot open the free/busy information. Cannot directly book a resource for
this meeting."

This just came up recently. I cannot find any obvious changes. We have
applied MSFT updates to clients and our Exchange 2003 servers.

This is a nasty problem -- can anyone help?

Is this happening for all user mailboxes or just the resource
calendars? Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2003 resource calendars are not a
good mix.

It is only happening for a few resource calendars. Can you be more specific
about whey OL2007 and E2K3 Resource Mailboxes aren't a good mix? This has
all worked just fine until a few days ago. Thanks.

If you open those resource mailboxes with the /cleanfreebusy switch,
does it work?

I think you'll find that Exchange 2007/Outlook 2007 resource calendars
are much improved.

I too am facing this and similar issues. its been going on for a few months
now.
we are using exchange 2007 and the majority of clients are 2007 as well.

I have created a dozen or so resource mailboxes and granted access to the
appropriate users.

currently one quarter of the resources give the following error

"Cannot open the free/busy information. You do not have sufficient
permission to preform this operatoin on this object. See the folder contact
or your system administrator"

I have tried using the "/cleanfreebusy" switch but that doesnt seem to work
after using this on some of the accounts i then receive another error when
logging onto the resource accounts "Your mailbox has been temporarily moved
on Microsoft Exchange server."

is there a way to clear the free/busy through exchange rather than outlook?
console or shell??

Give this a try.

i had to stuff around setting up the accounts for the resouses so i could
logon with them but once it was all setup this worked a treat.

You experience issues in Outlook 2007 or in Outlook 2003 when you try to
configure free/busy information or when you try to delegate information
