Cannot open the Outlook window

Bagheera

I logged into Outlook 2007 with no problem this morning. Windows then
automatically ran its updates and rebooted without my knowledge, since when
I've not been able to get in to Outlook at all. The Outlook splash screen
comes up, then a message:

"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window."

I have tried running Outlook in safe mode but this has not been successful
either.

We're running Exchange Server and most of the posts on this newsgroup seem
to apply to standalone users. Unfortunately, our IT manager is on holiday and
I am a bit stuck.

If there is a solution to this problem that I, a mere mortal user, can apply
I'd be really, really grateful if someone could let me know what it might be.
I don't know where my PST file is stored on the server unfortunately.

Many thanks.

Okay, I got help from an Information Specialist, this is what he had me do:
go to Start, Run, then type: outlook.exe/resetnavpane

That worked!

No, it didn't. You must have a space between "outlook.exe" and
"/resetnavpane" in order for it to work. Please make sure your posts reflect
exactly what you used so others don't get confused.
