cannot open word 2007 document in word 2003

i was using the office 2007 version and created a document - however i did
not like the layout of 2007 and reverted back to using 2003

when i try and open this document that i created in 2007 it says it cannot
do so without using a conversion tool for 2003 which i have downloaded and
installed

however even with this done i get " there was an error opening file " error.

i really need to get this document back - any ideas ?

Do you still have Word 2007 installed, or did you dump it? I've seen this
issue, and the only cure seems to be to open the document in Word 2007 and
save it in a different format (such as Word 97-2003 format or RTF).
