CANNOT OPEN WORD DOC

I have exactly the same problem as Patrick posted Aug 24

file is there but wont open

if there is a solution it would save me a tremendous
amount of rework

I am having the same problem too. The files are
definitely there as I can insert them into a blank
document but can not open them.

It seems to be an issue after I installed SR2.

Appreciate if any one can help.

If you are also using Norton AV then in Norton Options select the
Miscellaneous section and disable the "Office Plug-in". This is a
known conflict after installing the Office XP SP2 patch.
