Cannot open Word documents.

Hi, I have Office 2003 installed. When I try to open a Word document the
Windows Installer starts.. I get these error messages also.

Error 2203. An internal error has occurred. Contact Microsoft Product
Support Services (PSS) for assistance.

Word experienced an error while trying to open the file.
When I try to reinstall the Office 2003.. I am getting a different error
message.. that is..

Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file
location exists and is writable.

I would greatly appreciate any help. thanks in advance.

I have already installed the POST SP1 Critical Update from Microsoft.
