Cannot open Word in Mac

Hello

I have a big problem here~
Every time I double click word files, it leads me to Microsoft Office
Setup Assistance. And when I click "continue" and "finish",it leads me
to Autoupdate......I have update office and there is no new updates.
How can i solve it?????~

Well, it would help a "little" if you'd at least mention what version of
Office this is... X?... 2004?... 2008? Also, which version of the OS:
Tiger?... Leopard? Exact version numbers need to be known.

Have you tried using the File> Open method from within Word? Any difference
if you do? Is this with all files or just certain ones?

What else can you offer relevant to the issue?... New installation? Old
install that previously was working fine? If a new development, what's
changed on your system that might cause or contribute?

Without the necessary details we can guess & send you on a witch hunt
involving 1/2 a dozen web sites & numerous "possibilities" which most likely
don't apply, but I imagine you'd rather get right to *your* solution
