Cannot open Word X

I cannot open word x for mac., When I try to open word an error
message appears saying the application word has unexpectedly quit.
The system and other applicatons have not been affected.

What should I do?

Hi Kesha,

Do you have Office fully updated to 10.1.5? Have you tried repairing disk
permissions?

Go to Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities. Open up Disk Utility. Select
your hard disk, then click the First Aid tab. Click the button to "Repair
Disk Permissions".

If the problem persists, you may have a font conflict. See this article for

I have the same trouble, but I do not see the spash screen, just the
error message. It happened shortly after I install Panther. It started
taking longer and longer for Word to open, then last week I saw the
error message and did not open at all.
I uninstalled Word and reinstalled from my CD, and I updated to the
latest updated version, still the same problem. I wonder if it's the
font book? It just seemed that the toolbar took forever to load the
weeks before it finally crashed.

Crash on launch problems are usually due to corrupt fonts or font conflicts.
