Cannot outdent subtasks

When I indent to make a subtask(s) Project will not allow me to outdent the
subtask immediately following the summary task. The option to do so is still
on the toolbar, and the screen blinks like it's doing something, but nothing
happens. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and installed on various
computers and it does the same on all. I am in a class which utilizes
MSProject, and nobody else has ever experienced this or knows how to fix
it...including the professor of the class. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I just found a previous email with this exact problem. I will follow the
advice on that email and see how it turns out.

Mike,

Thanks for the quick reply. I just installed sp-1 for project and it fixed
the issue. What is the install you are recommending? Should I still do that
one as well?

SP2 is the latest service pack. It fixes all the glitches SP1 addressed
plus some things that were discovered and fixed since 1 was issued. I'm a
big believer in always insuring your software is kept up to date by applying
all service packs as they are released. I suggest checking about once a
week or so to insure everything is current should be just a standard part of
your routine.

Steve, I generally believe in this approach, but not for things like the OS
or enterprise applications. Case in point is the latest Project Server SP2.
Microsoft recalled it shortly after it was released because it had some
serious problems. See the following link:
