Cannot overwrite files on network share after implementing 2007

O

OSIMAN

So I decided to run with the new Office for 11 of our editorial staff. They
LOVE the new interface, but regetably I had to put them back onto 2003 due to
this issue.

When ever anyone tried to "save" or "save as.." on a document that resides
on our network share they are told that "The network share connection has
been lost, or you do not have the appropriate permissions to to the network
share".

This is however not true because everthing worked just fine before the
"upgrade".

Here is an example of exactly what is happening.

1.) I go to my document on the share, I open, Edit, And try to save. ERROR
see above for error
If i change the file name, it will save fine. Now i have different versions
of the same file "BAD". These people confuse easily.

2.) I create a new document, save it to my network share. Cool it works!
I open the file to edit later, try to save changes. Error (see above).

I double, triple checked the permissions to the network share all is fine.
I double check to make sure they are still connected to the network drive.
Yes in fact they never lost connection.

I now have moved these employees back onto Office 2003 - Witch they now hate
me for because these people were getting used to the new interface, and all
of the great things Outlook 2007 has to offer.

Please if anyone knows of a fix, or if anyone knows if the big MS is working
on a fix for this with an ETA. That would be great. I would like to be a
big supporter of MSs' new products but if they haven't figured out something
as simple as this when releasing a new product - GOD please help all of us!
