Cannot print from Outlook 2007 on Vista

Hello,

I have a client that is running Vista w/ SP1 and is fully updated for office
07. They are unable to print anything from Outlook.

The problem occurs as follows:
1. Client hits print button while trying to print an e-mail from Outlook 07.
2. Client is prompted to choose a printer. Default is already selected.
(related to this issue is the fact that the user is unable to select a
default printer in the printers menu. You can right click on the printer and
say "set as default" but absolutely nothing happens.)
3. The client would like to choose a different printer than the current
default.
4. Client chooses the printer they would like to use. (A network printer,
hosted on a server.)
5. Print screen comes up for a split second showing that the job is being
sent (can't tell what printer it tried to send the job to).
6. Job never is printed and the Adobe printer comes up, looking like the
client choose to print to that instead of the network printer(The adobe PDF
printer just so happens to be the default printer the client can't change
from).
7. No job listed in the the network printer print queue from the client.

I have tried to correct the "cannot set default printer in Vista" problem
with multple solutions from this website and others without any luck. I have
a feeling these problems are interconnected as the "outlook printing" problem
started right around the same time the "default printer" problem started.

I have been trolling message boards and Newsgroups off and on for days over
this issue and cannot come up with a fix. If anyone has any help, even if
its something I have already tried. IT IS MUCH APPRECIATED!

Thanks,
