cannot print using document image writer

I've used MS Office Document Image Writer for years with no issue. All of a
sudden it will not print, saying "unknown error occurred while printing". My
normal printer is connected fine. Can't find any online troubleshooting
help, any ideas how to fix?

Addl info: I have 2003 Student Teacher Edition. I can view docs previously
printed to Image Writer but cannot write. Last week I downloaded MS Project
and Visio 2007 trials. Could it have wiped out a needed component? Thx.
