"Cannot publish non-enterprise project plan"

I received an mpp file from someone who wants me to maintain this
project schedule. My inclination is to turn off the flag on the server
that prevents this. What do I lose by the fact that this is a
"non-enterprise project plan," and/or what is the difference between a
non-enterprise project plan and an enterprise project plan?

I have two questions for you:

1. Are the resources in this .mpp file in your Enterprise Resource Pool?
2. If yes, do you expect the resources in this .mpp file to report their
actuals using the PWA timesheet?

If you answered yes to both of the above questions, then you should import
this .mpp project into your Project Server database using Tools - Enterprise
Options - Import Project to Enterprise. Hope this helps.

What if I followed that instruction and it then worked as far as it uploaded
the actual project to the server, but now when I try to publish it to the
server so people can see their tasks it gives me that same message? As of
now it got published out, but its not "live" as far as it doesn't appear in
anyone's tasks.

Who are you? Are you "slippymississippi" or are you someone else? If you
are someone else, please describe your exact problem in a new post. If you
are slippymississippi, please list the exact steps you followed when you
said you "followed that instruction." Let us know.
